Suryavanshi Movie Review: Akshay Kumar-Rohit Shetty's cop drama sidetracks a lot of emotions
If you want to see how the opening of theaters at full capacity has affected the audience, it can be understood by watching the show of 'Eternals' in the nearby cinemas, but Akshay Kumar's film 'Suryavanshi' has been released in cinemas almost two years later. There is no madness to be seen in the audience. The business of 'Suryavanshi' may also increase on Saturdays and Sundays, but the news of the film's release on OTT in the month of December has affected the opening of the film in theaters. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh's presence in the film 'Suryavanshi' made all the viewers think of it, but as long as these two actors are involved in the story, the film has been waiting since last March. The year was ineffective. It's over.
The weakest link of the film 'Suryavanshi' is its story and its dialogues. Although the film's director Rohit Shetty also revealed at the end of the film that he is also going to make a sequel to this kind of Albeli Police Key World, but this cop has completely cut off contact with the real world. Everything in this story is nationalist, searching for more than half of the 1,000 kilograms of RDX that survived the 1993 Mumbai blasts. There are characters coming out of the groove. The characters are dressed like the formula of Mumbai films and its dialogues can make the Mumbai audience applaud, but the audience in all the Hindi-speaking states can hardly understand what it means.
Cinema of Rohit Shetty's is a different kind of cinema. His police are also the police of his imagination. The police of 'Singham' was filmed in 'Simba' and now in 'Suryavanshi' it seems that she is going beyond that. Akshay Kumar is Akshay Kumar in the film. Somewhere she was seen trying to look younger than her age and somewhere she was seen acting more than she needed to. Even more people than Akshay Kumar came to see this film named after Rohit Shetty and Rohit has also tried to put every spice in it. Is the coolest wife. Is an innocent child. Duty and family go hand in hand. Not only that, Rohit's villain is also not a solid villain. They also have families. They too have joys and sorrows. Also, the villains of Formula films are villains and trying to portray them as an emotional person does not match such a film.
In addition to the weaknesses of the story, screenplay and dialogues, the long absence of Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh in the film was greatly missed. If the three had been together from the beginning, the joy of the film would have been something different. Those who watch the film know that it has a special performance of Ajay and Ranveer, but most of the viewers came thinking that this is a multistarrer film. And, the same thing is going on in front of the film. Katrina Kaif did it wherever she was supposed to be, but one thing to note here is that she is working very hard on her acting. Akshay Kumar certainly doesn’t look like Veer Suryavanshi. Only Akshay Kumar was seen in each frame. Like 'Singham' and 'Simba', the character of 'Suryavanshi' was also colorful, while the film 'Suryavanshi' was a Diwali blast at the box office.
Rohit Shetty's film is based on story and action. The story in the film 'Suryavanshi' may be interrupted but the action is full of Rohit Shetty style. There is also a real USP to this film. In addition to 'Tip Tip Barsa Pani', 'Suryavanshi' has action in the film which keeps the viewers hooked till the end. The film has already turned its account into a profit by selling OTT and satellite rights. With the start of the first weekend at the box office, it remains to be seen how much Akshay Kumar's brand value will increase or decrease.
