Twitter brings security key as your one-way 2FA mobile, website

Twitter has announced that users can use their security keys as a two-factor authentication form (2FA) for both phones and mobile phones, which is a very effective way to keep your Twitter account secure.
In March, Twitter had said it would soon release people using the security key as their only two-factor authentication method.

"Security keys provide the strongest security for your Twitter account because they have built-in protections to ensure that even if a key is used to help with sensitive identity theft, shared information will not be used to access your account," Twitter said in a statement Wednesday.
Security keys can distinguish legitimate sites from malicious ones and block attempts to steal sensitive information SMS or verification codes would not.
Twitter has long encouraged the use of another type of 2FA.
In 2018, it added the option to use security keys as one of the 2FA options.
However, this initial support is only for Twitter.com, not a mobile app, and requires accounts to have another 2FA enabled mode as well.
By 2019, it has developed security key support to use the latest WebAuthn standard, which provides a timely and secure and secure authentication method known across the web.
By 2020, the company is making further progress by enabling support for security keys on iOS and Android, in addition to the web.
Earlier this year, it added the ability to register multiple security keys to a Twitter user account, allowing them to have backup security keys and make it easier for multiple managed accounts to enable 2FA with multiple security keys.
"Now add the option to use security keys as your only 2FA method - which means you can register one or more security keys as the only 2FA method on your Twitter account without the 2FA backup method," explains Twitter.
