BCCI Announces 2021-22 Home Season Schedule, 2127 Same to Play
India's Cricket Regulatory Board (BCCI) has announced the plan for the upcoming 2021-22 season. A total of 2127 games will be played for the senior teams this season.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday announced the plan for the upcoming 2021-22 season. The home season will kick off with the Women One Day League, starting on September 21 this year. India's Twenty20 home league - the Sydney Mushtaq Ali Trophy - will kick off on October 20 with the final to be played on November 12. BCCI in its press statement also said the Ranji Trophy will be played in a three-month window from November 2021 to February 2022.
"The canceled Ranji Trophy, which was canceled last season due to the COVID-19 epidemic, will be played on a three-month window from November 16, 2021 to February 19, 2022," the statement said.
The 50th home league - the Vijay Hazare Trophy - will kick off in February next year.
"The Vijay Hazare Trophy will run from February 23, 2022 to March 26, 2022," the BCCI said.
A total of 2127 games will be played throughout the 2021-22 home season for all men's and women's teams.
BCCI has expressed confidence in making the home season a success while maintaining the health and safety of everyone as its priority.
"The BCCI is confident that it will manage the home season with the health and safety of the players and all the people involved to be at the forefront," the statement read.
