Researchers led by researchers at the University of Edinburgh suggest that listening to music while running can help combat mental fatigue and may be key to improving human performance as well.

The findings of this study were published in the Journal of Human Sport and Exercise. The performance of the athletes, who listened to the playlist of their choice after completing the hard work of thinking, was at the same level as where they were not mentally exhausted, the study found.

Research has been the first to investigate the effect of listening to a playlist on the endurance and working capacity of a mentally active person. Researchers used two experiments to study how listening to music affects the performance of eighteen health enthusiasts.

Another trial looked at the effects on intermittent performance - alternating between high-speed and high-intensity running - with a team of nine hard-working athletes, and another a 5km trial with a group of nine trained runners.

The teams completed a 30-minute computer-based test that put them in a state of mental fatigue before completing strenuous physical activity. Runners were tested with inspiring music and without choice.

Researchers have assisted participants in selecting songs that are inspiring with a pre-test questionnaire that asks them to rate rhythm, style, sounds, temple, sound and rhythm of music. Examples of songs that the participants listened to were: `` Everyday '' by A $ ap Rocky, `Addicted To You` by Avicii,` `Run This Town` by Jay-Z,` Power 'by Kanye West, `No One Knows` by Queens of the Stone Age, and `Eye of the Tiger` by Survivor.

During exercise, heart rate and visual activity rate were measured in most areas. The team reviewed the results of baseline tests performed by participants who did not have pre-requisite brain tests - and without the use of music.

Researchers have found that intermittent performance among those who experience physical fatigue is relatively moderate in music compared to non-music and is similar to when participants are not mentally exhausted. Experiments conducted over 5 km showed a slight improvement in the music of your choice compared to the music. Researchers say that the positive effects of music can be influenced by a change in perception of music.

As Per several Dr.  of the University of Edinburgh's Moray House School of Education and Sport, said: "Mental fatigue is common to most of us, and can have a reversal impact on our daily activities, including exercise. So it helps to find safe and effective ways to reduce this negative impact. ”

"The findings show that listening to uplifting music of your choice can be a helpful tool to help industrious people improve their endurance and performance when mentally exhausted.

The positive effect of your choice of music can help people to better maintain their quality and the quality of their workout time, "said Phillips. in these areas it continues at the University of Edinburgh.
